Product profile

Cocopeat blocks supplier, Indonesia

Washed coir pith, screened and compressed. Buffered low-EC grades for hydroponic growers.
PT WAN Ulangi Abadi

What it is

Cocopeat is the fine, spongy coir pith that falls out of a coconut husk once the long coco coir fibre has been pulled from it. Washed to strip the salts the husk carries, screened, dried and pressed into blocks, it holds several times its own weight in water and still keeps air around the roots — which is why it has largely replaced peat in hydroponics, nurseries and mushroom growing. Washed low-EC material measures below 0.5 mS/cm, and buffered grades are available for growers who need the sodium and potassium displaced before planting. It ships dry and compressed: a 5 kg cocopeat block is a brick until water is added, then it opens into around 75 litres of medium.

What the price includes

There are no prices on this page on purpose: commodity and freight rates move week to week, and a figure printed here would be wrong within a month. What does not move is who pays for what.

What moves the price

Which is why there is no price list. Several of these are yours to set, and they are where a lower number usually comes from.
Specification — washed low-EC material costs more than unwashed, and grade and screen size move with it
Packing — compressed blocks, briquettes, bags, and bulk do not cost the same to make or to load
Volume and continuity — a repeat contract prices better than a single container
Destination port, and which Incoterm you ask us to quote
Season and raw-material availability
Ocean freight rates, which move on their own and are outside anyone's control here

Quality control

Every container is checked against the specification written into your contract before it is sealed — not after it arrives.
Pre-shipment inspection against the agreed specification, on every container
Photographic report of the goods and of loading, sent before the vessel sails
Third-party laboratory analysis of EC, pH, and moisture on request
